5 Signs You May Benefit From Hormone Replacement Therapy

Hormones are the unsung heroes of bodily function, quietly dictating everything from energy levels to emotional well-being. When these chemical messengers get out of balance, the effects can ripple through every aspect of your life, from your mood to your metabolic rate.

At Russak Personalized Medicine in Greenwood Village, Colorado, our team of health professionals understands how debilitating hormonal imbalances can be. That's why we offer comprehensive hormonal evaluations and treatments like hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that have proved to be effective for countless patients. Read on to learn some signs that it may be time to consider HRT.

Constant fatigue or low energy levels

If you're always feeling drained, it may not simply be due to a hectic schedule or lack of sleep. A hormonal imbalance can be at the root, causing persistent fatigue that coffee and power naps just can't shake. For many, it's a constant tiredness that interferes with day-to-day activities and diminishes quality of life.

Persistent mood swings or irritability

Irrational irritability or mood swings are not just unpleasant — they can also strain your relationships and take a toll on your mental well-being. If you're experiencing drastic mood changes without any discernible reason, a hormonal imbalance could be the instigator.

Sleep disturbances

Nothing disrupts your life quite like poor sleep. Hormonal imbalances can wreak havoc on your sleep cycle, leading to insomnia or frequent wakefulness throughout the night. This, in turn, can lead to a range of health problems, from impaired cognitive function to increased susceptibility to illness.

Sexual dysfunction

Low hormone levels can have a severe impact on your sexual health, causing problems such as reduced libido, vaginal dryness, or erectile dysfunction. These issues can not only affect your self-esteem but also create strain in your relationships.

Weight gain or trouble losing weight

Experiencing weight gain without a change in diet or exercise can be confusing. Hormonal imbalances may slow your metabolism, making weight loss a steep uphill battle. HRT can help reset your metabolic rate, making it easier to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight.

Rebalancing hormones with BioTe®

BioTe® is a cutting-edge form of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy that stands out for its use of pellet therapy. These pellets, each about the size of a grain of rice, are implanted just under the skin during a simple in-office procedure.

They release a consistent, low dose of bioidentical hormones over an extended period — typically three to six months — providing the advantage of a steady hormone level without the daily fluctuations that can come with other methods like pills, patches, or injections.

At Russak Personalized Medicine, we offer BioTe hormone therapy as one of our trusted solutions to hormone imbalance. The therapy begins with comprehensive blood work to assess your specific hormone levels, followed by a consultation to discuss the results and determine if BioTe is the best treatment option for you.

Recognizing the signs of hormonal imbalance is the first step toward reclaiming your well-being. At Russak Personalized Medicine, we're committed to helping you navigate the complexities of hormone health through personalized care, including hormone replacement therapy.

With a comprehensive approach, we aim to restore balance to your life, ensuring that you can operate at your optimal level each day.
